EMED air ambulance provides emergency access to St. Maarten Medical Center.
The St. Maarten Medical Center opened to the public on March 17th,
1991, as the successor of St. Rose Hospital. SMMC is a non-profit
organization that manages and carries out hospital functions serving the
community of Dutch St Maarten in the north-eastern Caribbean. Our
patient care services also support the surrounding smaller islands such
as Saba, Statia and Anguilla as well as others in the region. Our
facility has 76 inpatient beds and employs approximately 220 personnel. For emergency services call EMED air ambulance at 876.275.1119
There are eighteen full and part-time attending specialists
affiliated with the organization. The majority of the medical
specialists are not in service of the SMMC, but many maintain their
private practices on the premises of the hospital.
The hospital boasts a diverse nursing staff, recruited locally and
internationally, to serve the multicultural and multi-lingual needs of
the island. The nursing staff is supported by our in-house nationally
accredited Education Department, whose task is to offer training,
specialization courses in field nursing as well as
defining patient handling protocols with EMed Jamaica to ensure that SMMC meets the
highest standards in patient care. For emergency medical transportation please call St. Martin air ambulance at 876.275.1119
